Wombourne Tandoori Restaurant

If you're ever in Wolverhampton and craving Indian food that feels both comforting and elevated, Wombourne Tandoori Restaurant on High Street is a name you’ll want to remember. This place brings the full curry house experience with a modern edge, offering everything from classic favourites to bold regional dishes that pack a flavourful punch.

The restaurant itself has a cozy but vibrant vibe, welcoming everyone from solo diners to dinner groups. It's one of those spots where the aroma hits you before you even sit down-a warm mix of spices that tells you they’re not playing around when it comes to flavour. The atmosphere is casual but polished, with wheelchair-accessible seating, toilets, and a car park, making it easy for anyone to drop in and enjoy.

Let’s talk food. If you’re the type who appreciates a well-balanced curry, the Chicken Jalfraizi here doesn’t disappoint. It’s got just the right amount of heat with tender chicken and vibrant peppers, perfect for pairing with a soft, fluffy Plain Naan straight from the tandoor. For something richer, the Butter Chicken is a creamy, indulgent winner-great for those who want depth without overwhelming spice.

Looking for something hearty? Try the Chicken Biryani. It arrives fragrant and generously portioned, with each grain of rice infused with spices. It’s a full meal on its own, but if you’re feeling extra, the Tarka Dhal makes a perfect side-earthy, garlicky, and warming to the core.

Vegetarians have plenty to explore too, and the kitchen clearly puts care into more than just meat dishes. From Saag Chicken to robust lentil curries, even the most devout carnivores will want a bite. Vegan options are available as well, and they’re not just afterthoughts-expect full-on flavour in every dish.

Of course, you can’t forget drinks. A great pint of Cobra or a cold glass of wine makes the perfect companion to these flavour-packed dishes. There’s a full bar available, so whether you’re into spirits, coffee, or a quick beer with your curry, you’re sorted.

For those craving something a little different, the Steak Sandwich is a bit of a surprise hit. Juicy and layered with bold seasoning, it's a reminder that this place isn’t afraid to go off-script from the traditional Indian playbook and still deliver.

Wombourne Tandoori also serves dessert, and yes-it’s worth saving room for. While their sweet menu isn’t massive, the selections are thoughtfully made and hit the spot after a spice-packed meal. Whether it’s a creamy kulfi or a warm gulab jamun, the meal ends on a high note.

The team here knows their service game. Orders come out in good time, the staff are knowledgeable about what they’re serving, and the atmosphere remains relaxed even during peak hours. Whether you’re ordering for takeaway, getting it delivered, or enjoying a dine-in experience, the consistency holds up. It’s also a great option for late-night eats, so if you’re hungry after hours, you’re in luck.

If you're in the area and looking for a mix of traditional Indian flavours with crowd-pleasing twists, Wombourne Tandoori Restaurant strikes the balance. It’s approachable, flavourful, and clearly run by folks who care about good food and great service. Whether you’re chasing comfort food or branching out, this spot ticks all the right boxes for an enjoyable dining experience.

Incredible Bangladeshi restaurant in Wombourne. Best in the area. Best I've had anywhere to be honest. Never had a bad meal either eat in or takeaway, and tried a range of dishes, but the Chef Special Malae Ki Murghi is exceptional

I have recently re visited this resturant and I'm pleased to say that the meals and service are still to a great standard as my previous review describes. Please read my review: This has got to be one of the best if not the best Tandoori Resturants in the West Midlands, Excellent service, Incredible food, unbelievable prices. Went as a group and from entering the building we felt utterly welcomed. The staff were so attentive, considerate and fun. We all had different orders and no one in the group had a negative comment. Good, hot food and not small portions, great environment and highly clean facilities. I hate to give a glowing review like this because I may not get a spare table when I revisit.....which will be a regular event. Sorry no pictures too busy eating, perhaps next time.

Best Indian restaurant in the area in my opinion. No skimping on ingredients or quantity and the food is old school delicious. The takeaway is excellent too.
